There is one simple, cheap, and relatively easy BIG thing that we can all do to encourage weight loss:

Drink more water.

We all know the obvious health benefits of water in aiding digestion, eliminating waste, better skin, improved muscle tone and increased metabolism, but the big weight loss win is that increasing water intake will curb your appetite.

Thirst is most often confused with hunger, so we often eat when we could have responded to the pangs with zero calorie water in lieu of food.

The best way to increase your water intake is to set up a daily water-drinking system that fits with ease into your lifestyle.

Start here:

1- Drink a glass of water as soon as you awake, before eating anything.
2- Drink a full glass of water BEFORE each meal, and BEFORE every snack.

That’s it! You should shoot for 8-10 large glasses per day.

If you do not love water, try adding some flavor by adding any combination of watermelon, cantaloupe, or pineapple chunks, lemon, lime, or orange slices, ginger, berries, cucumbers, fresh mint, fresh rosemary, basil, cinnamon sticks, apple or pear slices or herbal teas such as mint, passion fruit, peach and blueberry.

You can monitor your intake by checking your urine- you are looking for a very pale yellow color.

Try this new system for 2 weeks and monitor your progress.

Over time, the more water you drink the more thirsty you’ll find yourself, so within a short amount of time, drinking more water will become less of a chore and more like a regular daily habit.
